ANU Adviser to Staff

The Adviser to Staff provides free, confidential and professional counselling and advice to staff on-campus in dealing with work-related or personal issues that may be affecting their work.

The Adviser can also help develop strategies for dealing with workplace issues causing difficulties or tension, and provide an informal, work-related mediation service for dispute resolution or problem-solving. Advise to managers and work groups can also be given.

ANU has three Advisers to Staff on campus:

  • Maaria Haque - Ext 58283 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & alternate Tuesdays)

ANU offers a choice of counselling and advisory services for our staff members and their immediate families.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers can help you work through a broad range of personal and work-related issues. You don’t need to struggle alone.

They’re qualified, experienced and independent and the service is free and confidential.

At Relationships Australia Canberra & Region we are continuing to review our work based on the unfolding advice of the Australian Government and State/Territory Governments. At this time, we will be moving our Employee Assistance Services from face to face delivery to online and telephone service modes early this week.  Our staff are being enabled to work securely from home to deliver telephone and online services. We are updating our policies and process to ensure confidentiality and privacy of our clients, and for our staff when they are working from home.

We will be contacting clients with existing bookings to talk about how this can be arranged. Any requests for new services will be advised of these changes.

ANU Health Service

The on campus health services provider is the National Health Co-op (NHC). The NHC operates a state-of-the-art health and wellness clinic on levels 2 and 3 of Health and Wellbeing Centre (Building 156) in Kambri.

In addition to the NHC ANU Clinic on campus, enrolled students and staff who are NHC members are able to access health services from any of the NHC’s Clinics in the Canberra region. An up-to-date list of the NHC’s clinics and services is available at

ACT Mental Health Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team
