PR for Academics: Talking About Your Research with the Media
Talking to journalists can be a bit daunting – whether it’s chatting to a print journalist with their notepad and pen over coffee or taking part in something digital and possibly even live-to-air, it always feels like the pressure is on. But with a little preparation and foresight, giving a good media interview needn’t be too hard and is a great way to get your research across to potentially huge audiences in a highly successful way. Coming up next in the PR for Academics series is a session about talking to the media and giving a successful interview.

Expressions of interest open for the Statistics Boot Camp!
Go on a three-day ‘deep dive’ boot camp designed to help you write a Data Analysis Plan and identify the statistics you need to conduct your research. This Boot Camp is for people just beginning their research and using quantitative data analysis to answer their research questions. This Boot Camp will be run by Associate Professor Richardson, who has over two decades of experience in teaching introductory statistics to undergraduates, so she knows all about the statistics hesitancy that some candidates bring to their research. She has published research on innovative ways to bring statistics to life, and on the difficulties in writing statistically because of the language ambiguities involved. EOI Closes on Thur 20 Apr 2023.
