Survey Participant Information
Student Admissions has conducted a range of research and analysis activities in the development of the new admissions model that brings together admissions, scholarships and accommodation under one application, including research in partnership with Planning and Performance Measurement.
Admissions is now turning attention to the implementation of the model, including how changes to the ANU Admissions processes will be communicated to relevant stakeholders. The aim of the project is to identify any looming challenges when it comes to making stakeholders aware of changes to ANU admission processes. Specifically, the present research will test how clear and attractive stakeholders may find the various components of the ASA model.
This project is being undertaken by Student Recruitment & Admissions, Planning and Performance Measurement, and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. This exercise is sponsored by Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
There are no agencies external to the ANU involved in the conduct of this project, and this activity does not form the basis of academic research.
Benefits to participation
Participants in this project will have the opportunity to inform the communication of the new ANU’s admissions model, ensuring that students like themselves are represented in the external messaging analysis. Participants also have the opportunity to win one of two Apple iPads. Winners will be drawn on Thursday 15th February, and will be notified via email on Friday 16th February.
Risks to participation
The survey uses non-invasive questions to ask participants about their views on key messages around the new admissions model. This risk to participants is assessed as very low.
Responses to this survey will remain confidential, so far as the law allows. Raw data will stored securely and access will be restricted to Planning and Performance Measurement. Appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that individual participants will not be identifiable in any subsequent reporting (e.g. qualitative responses will be de-identified where necessary, quantitative reporting will be suppressed for sample subgroups smaller than five people).
