Types of mentoring:
Academic
Non-academic

I believe mentoring is important because it is a cornerstone to the success of next-generation researchers and leaders in higher education.

Prior to and throughout my academic career, I maintain a strong engagement with the industry. My teaching has been recognized by multiple college and university awards. I also publish and serve in the Associate Editor and in the editorial boards of the top journals in my fields. More recently I have taken up the role as the CBE Associate Dean (Students and Industry Experience). These experiences will allow me to provide insights on how to thrive in education, research and service/leadership domains; and, more importantly, how to strike a balance taking into account individuals' strengths/weakness.
