Ursula Hall is located in a quiet corner of the Australian National University campus and is just walking distance from the university's many facilities and the bustling city centre. It is also conveniently located on a bus route that goes to Civic, Woden and Belconnen town centres - so transport is never a problem. Situated next to Sullivan's Creek, the Hall boasts a scenic view and is surrounded by attractive native flora and fauna. There are attractive walks to take in the full beauty of the campus - with Lake Burley Griffin and the National Botanic Gardens just minutes' walk away. So come along and see for yourself. The Hall has flexible options to cater for your next conference. We accept bookings over the summer period between December and January. We have an excellent range of break-out spaces and presentational resources for conference groups to use as well as excellent food and clean facilities, all in a great convenient location.

    Accommodation

    Ursula Hall provides accommodation for both causal guests and conference groups during the Summer Accommodation period (December & January). We endeavour to provide a high standard of service and comfort to all of our guests. The Hall offers a relaxed atmosphere for guests, located on the ANU Campus and adjacent to the Black Mountain Reserve and the National Botanical Gardens. Each single study/bedroom contains the following:

    • Single Bed, Mattress, Mattress Protector, linen and towel
    • Large, Storage Cupboard with ample Shelving, Hanging Space & Mirror;
    • Vanity Unit with Sink and Hot & Cold Water;
    • Large Study Desk with Office Chair, Desk Lamp;
    • Bookshelf;
    • Pin Board;
    • Bins;
    • Network Port & Wi-fi
    • Window with Curtains;
    • A Smart card key Security System.

    In addition to the above, the laundry at Ursula Hall contains at no charge:

    • Washing Machines;
    • Dryers and Drying rooms;
    • Irons and Ironing Boards.

    Bathrooms are separate male and female bathrooms on each floor which are serviced by the cleaning staff on a daily basis 6 days a week. Toiletries such as hand soap, toilet paper are stocked regularly by cleaning staff.

    • Ensuite rooms which contain more space and their own bathroom;

    Facilities

    Conference rooms & features

    Ursula Hall is a fully catered Hall with up to 196 single rooms and 12 ensuite rooms available. There are no additional charges for the use of these facilities, except the use of Ursula Hall Canteen. Rooms available for use are:

    Angela Cooney study rooms

    The Angela Cooney room and four study rooms are available for conference guests. Each room includes tables, chairs and whiteboards.

    Common room

    This communal area is available to all conference guests of the Hall, as an ideal place to relax and unwind after a productive day. Open 24 hours a day, this room boasts:

    • Large LCD Screens with DVD Player & IPTV (70+ channels);
    • Foxtel;
    • Sofas, easy chairs & card tables;
    • Wireless internet access;
    • Fridge, microwave
    • A lectern and microphone can also be provided

    Community room

    Formal meeting room with a long table, this room can be setup with a protector and audio equipment for meetings and. This room can also be used from small formal dinner function by special request.

    The Chapel room

    This is another meeting room or break out space that can be used for small gatherings or meetings. The room has an LCD screen for presentations and can be set up in different configurations by arrangement.

    Games room

    This room is open to all guests from 9am - 10pm. This is a space for guests to relax and play a game of pool, table tennis or darts.

    Ground floor accessible rooms

    Four of the bedrooms at Ursula Hall are accessibility-access rooms that can be used by guests by request of the conference facilitator.

    Licensed bar - Ursula Hall Canteen

    Located in the Common Room, the Ursula Hall Canteen is available to Conference guests upon the request of the Conference Organiser/Group. It can cater for functions and offers:

    • A full range of savoury & confectionary products;
    • Soft drinks, fruit juices & milkshakes;
    • A range of alcoholic beverages;
    • A rear projection television with Foxtel & IPTV;
    • Large sofas, easy chairs, bar stools & drinks tables.

    Laundry room

    The laundry is located on the ground floor of B block. There are ‘free’ no coin washing machines and dryers available for the use of guests as well as a drying room. Guests need to provide their own washing powder and to follow the instructions for use as set out in the laundry. Ironing boards and irons are located in the drying rooms on B1 and B2.

    Mad room

    Located in the common room, this room includes at TV and gaming consoles for entertainment.

    Music room

    Ursula Hall Main wing has music practice rooms. This room includes sound-proofed walls and modern equipment. Please enquire at reception about access during office hours or contact the Senior Resident On-Duty.

    Catering

    Ursula Hall offers delegates choices from our delicious conference menu. Menu options include, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The Hall can also tailor menus to cater for formal functions and three-course sit down meals for special occasions.

    All meals are prepared daily from our fresh tasty menu. Meals include a selection of hot and cold, meat and vegetarian dishes. Our diverse and healthy menu accommodates most dietary needs. However, special dietary needs may be catered for upon pre-arrangement before your arrival at the Hall.

    Dining hall meal times

    Breakfast: 7:00am - 9:00am. Early breakfast can be organised by special request

    Lunch: 12:30pm - 2:00pm

    Dinner: 5:30pm - 7:00pm
