The National Institutes Grant (NIG) team is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the University’s National Institutes Grant framework.
Through the National Institutes Grant framework, we are enabling a strategic focus to underpin the expenditure and accountability of the NIG, improving accountability for its expenditure, providing for the opportunity to reinvest the NIG in new strategic priorities and establishing a reporting process that consistently demonstrates the outstanding return on investment to the Australian government that the University delivers through its ongoing commitment to the national interest.
Specifically, key functions of the team include:
- active engagement with the University community to establish and maintain an expenditure and accountability framework for the NIG, with supporting processes and systems, and to direct the operation of these processes
- providing guidance on matters relating to the expenditure and accountability of the NIG
- development and implementation of effective communication methodologies throughout the University to support the implementation and ongoing management of the National Institutes Grant framework
- preparing reports and briefs on the expenditure and accountability of the NIG for the University Executive and other relevant stakeholders.
