Penny is a senior public affairs professional with more than 15 years’ experience in strategic communications and stakeholder management related roles developed in the higher education and energy industries. She has advanced multi-disciplinary experience in a range of other functions including event management, VIP and protocol arrangements, government relations, media relations, content development, social media, marketing, publication development and production and speechwriting.
As Director of the SCAPA team at ANU she develops integrated communications plans and campaigns for a range of stakeholders including government, business, community and internal audiences. She is also part of the University’s issues and crisis management team. Her role involves making sure that everyone knows ANU is extraordinary. That means fostering a sense of pride and belonging on campus, generating a sense of excitement in the wider community about the contribution the University makes to Australian life and making sure that ANU is widely recognised as Australia's most significant university.
