Kate Prestt

Media Communications Officer

Kate's talent for writing first showed itself at school when she began writing short stories on demand for all her friends in Melbourne; it was a foregone conclusion she would study English at University.

After studying Arts at La Trobe University she decided to hone her dramatic skills and accepted a spot in the Performing Arts program at Monash University.

Her career as a journalist has seen her present a weekly political program on local station SYN Radio, attend opening nights, assist at fashion shoots and enjoy the occasional travel junket as an editorial assistant for the Herald Sun, visit Denmark on a Rotary Group Study Exchange and finally, move to Tasmania to work for The Advocate Newspaper.

The ocean views and idyllic lifestyle in Tasmania eventually had to wear thin, so she hung up her jeans and boots to move to the Bush Capital to join the ANU Strategic Communications team.
