Megan is a former journalist and producer with more than 10 years' experience in media and communications. She began her career as a reporter, sub-editor and acting chief of staff with Fairfax Media in regional Tasmania, keeping a pair of gumboots under her desk for emergencies.
After an extended "grown-up gap year", during which time she lived in Canada, the UK and travelled extensively, Megan returned to the newsroom, where she managed the production and syndication of national news and sport content across more than 150 mastheads for Australian Community Media. Prior to joining The Australian National University (ANU), Megan was a senior producer at The Canberra Times where she managed the publication's website and social media channels. She has a strong interest in digital storytelling and engaging readers through creative and dynamic content.
Megan joined ANU in 2020 and worked in digital communications and marketing at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, before moving to ANU Communications and Engagement as a Media and Digital Communications Officer in April 2021.
